Born and raised in Flint, MI, Reverend Norman E. Freeman, Jr. matriculated through the Flint Public School System. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Management from Baker College (Flint, MI). His earlier career pursuits led him on the path towards business ownership through the Ford Motor Company. However, in 1993, God called Reverend Freeman for His purpose, and he faithfully answered and committed himself to the ministry.
Reverend Freeman has diligently prepared himself for ministry, earning a Master of Divinity from the historic and prestigious Virginia Union University School of Theology (Richmond, VA). While in seminary, he served as the Associated Minister of Economic Development at Trinity Baptist Church. In this capacity, he researched franchise opportunities and orchestrated negotiations for purchasing and/or establishing church-owned businesses. His corporate experience and expertise are transferrable in his role as the spiritual head and senior leader of the church.
A New Beginning. On the 31st day of July, 2013, Reverend Norman E. Freeman became the eighth Pastor of The Greater Antioch Baptist Church of Pompano Beach, Florida. Prior to that date, Reverend Freeman served as Senior Pastor of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Homestead, Florida, and also former Youth Pastor at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida.
Reverend Freeman is currently completing his Doctorate Degree at United Theological Seminary, in Dayton, OH. His Primary area of concentration is Pastoral Community and Business Leadership. His Dissertation is title Family Life Ministry: A Pathway to Healing Homes.
Reverend Freeman is fully committed to God and his family. He is married to Lavinia Battle Freeman and they are the proud parents of three precious children: Nia Emani, Laila Breeze and Najee Emir.
